Sherri Lynn
-Host of 'Livin Right'-
Born May 28, 1973, Sherri has had the hand of God on her since birth. When she was only 5 months old, well-known evangelist Kathryn Kuhlman prophesied that Sherri would be a “genius.” In keeping with God’s promise, Sherri graduated from Kiski Area High School in the top 10% of her class. Though many offers would flood in from upstanding schools such as Stanford and Hampton University, Sherri accepted the Dean’s Scholarship to York College of Pennsylvania, majoring in Communications with a minor in Business Administration. It was at York College, that Sherri recognized what would become her true passion-RADIO.
Upon completion of her secondary education, she began working at Pittsburgh’s Gospel Radio WPGR 1080 AM, a station owned by Mortensen Broadcasting Corporation. Hired primarily as a board operator, her popularity grew as a gospel announcer prompting management to offer Sherri her own show. She was and still is known affectionately as “Sherri Lynn-In Your Weekend.” In June of 1998 Sherri moved to WGBN, Pittsburgh’s 24-hour black gospel radio station and still has a faithful following.
Sherri is licensed and ordained to preach the gospel and is the Youth Pastor of Rivers of Life Outreach Ministries. Though Sherri is the youth pastor of her church, she feels the urging of the Holy Spirit to go beyond the four walls of church and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with as many young people as possible. It was this vision that led Sherri to begin the Livin Right Youth Summits and the Livin Right Radio Show. Young people from all over come to discuss issues facing them daily. Sherri, along with a panel of youth pastors, addresses the needs and questions of the young people from a biblical standpoint.
Sherri’s biblical insight, wit, and God given ability to communicate, makes her a well sought after speaker to young and old alike. In addition to her youth and radio ministry, Sherri is also an accomplished comedian. In 2000 she recorded a live comedy CD entitled “Living Life Out Loud.” Sherri’s humor is specifically for the Body of Christ and is meant to be a catalyst for healing and unity.
